Best Features of Pin Generator

Pin Generator is at its best when it is bulk-creating Pins. As a marketing tool, it will save you hours and hours of time in your business, as it enables you to quickly create and post pins that have great designs and perform well on the Pinterest platform.

There are two principal ways of creating your pins.

1. You can either add a page URL from a site that has the product you want to promote and Pin Generator will scrape that page to find the images for you, all you have to do is decide which images to use and Pin Generator will add them to the pin designs.

With the right templates (either the built-in ones or your own creations), you can create an almost limitless number of pins in one go.

2. The second method, and the one that I use most, is to upload your content from a CSV file. Don’t worry, you don’t have to be technical in any way to do this, it’s really easy to achieve and this template will get you started.

When you click this link you can just make a copy of the spreadsheet and download it to your computer. The template is also available from the Pin Generator site if you want to get it from there.

There is a third way to make a pin, you can just create one for yourself from the home page and edit it to your taste and brand, but in all honesty, this is not really using the platform to its best abilities, after all, time is money, and creating pins one by one is a lot slower!

Setting Up

Colours and Fonts: Set your colour palette by clicking on the down arrow and choose your colour palette and fonts. Customise your colours by clicking a colour and changing it in the palette that appears. Override the font and select your brand font if you want to.

Templates: Click the down arrow to see the template options. There are plenty of predesigned templates for you to choose from,  or choose from templates that you have created in the template editor, (More on that later).

Images: Although images are imported from the URL or CSV file that you use, you can upload your own images here if there are some specific ones you want to add to your pins. Once uploaded just drag and drop the image to the pin you want it on.

Stock Images: Pin Generator has teamed up with Pexels to make finding some great images so much easier and quicker. Without having to leave the platform, it is really simple to search through the royalty-free images on Pexels and add them to your project. As with images just drag and drop the ones you want.

Videos: Upload your own videos to increase creativity and improve your pins. After uploading your video just drag and drop it to the pin you want. Pinterest loves videos so this is a great way to increase your impressions and pin clicks on Pinterest.

AI Options: Here you can rewrite both the titles and descriptions for your pins, this uses AI credits (same as pin credits, more on credits and pricing later in this post). Choose which language you want the AI to write in, add a tone like formal or witty, and then any keywords you are trying to rank for on Pinterest.

Bulk Settings: If you are looking to standardise your pins this part of the tool is where it can be done, you can make all the pins you are going to generate have the same title, description, outbound link and URL text. This is handy when you want to just have different designs and visuals but get the same message across for all the pins.

Brand Settings: To keep your brand consistent across all your platforms, Pin Generator gives you the option to have a brand profile, set your brand name and upload a logo, which is great for your identity and brand profile on Pinterest.

Note: I find it best to concentrate on colours and templates for the setup phase. For Images, Stock Images, Videos and AI Options these tend to be better used once your pins are generated. Bulk settings and brand settings can be done before generating pins as it helps you get the overall look of your pins before you edit any of them.

Creating Your Own Templates

To create your own templates in Pin Generator, just click ‘templates’ at the top of the page and you will arrive at the space for you to edit and create your own templates.

You can also check out the premade templates (which you can edit and save as your own) and view some of the templates that the community has shared for you to use and edit as you please.

By choosing shared templates, you get to see all the premade and community templates that are available for you to use, there is no extra charge for this so feel free to use as many as you like.

Click on a template and the editing suite will open which enables you to customise the pin. Or, you can create a pin from scratch by clicking add new template.

Once you have edited your pin you can give it a name and then hit save template and its added to Your Templates for future use.

Bulk Create Pinterest Pins

This is definitely where Pin Generator is at its best. After logging in you start with a new page and choose the number of pins you want to generate. The Default is 12 but you can choose more or less according to the number you need.

Add the URL of the page you want the images from and click generate Pins.

Within a few seconds, Pin Generator will bring up an options box that gives you the ability to choose all or some of the images, select your preferences and you will then see them added to the pins on the page.

Next, choose the board you want to Pin to, if you don’t have a board set up on Pinterest you can do it here.

Note: Don’t forget to go to your Pinterest page and write a description that is SEO-optimised for your new board if you create it in Pin Generator. This will help your pins to be found on Pinterest.

Editing Your Pins

With all your pins generated, you can now choose to edit them individually, or if you are happy with what you see you can proceed to pin them on Pinterest, either individually or using the scheduler. (More on the Scheduler later)

There are a few ways you can edit a pin.

First, simply choose the edit pin icon on an individual pin and a box will pop up where you can edit the title, description, target URL (outbound link), URL text, change the template and also choose an alternative image if one is available. Click save and you’re done.

Next is editing the pin directly on the page.

All you have to do is click an element that you want to change for example a banner and at the top of the page you will see the editing options, where you can change colours and box borders.

If you select some text, again at the top of the page you can change and edit the font, the colour and other parts of the text. You can also click inside the text itself and rewrite it until you have the desired title or message.

Scheduling Your Pins

Now that you have all your pins generated and edited it’s time to start pinning!

The two ways you can do this are to either post your pins immediately or, use the built-in scheduling tool.

To post a pin immediately is super easy, just click the Pinterest icon and the pin will be posted immediately to your connected Pinterest account and the board that you chose earlier.

If you are only doing a few pins then this is probably the best way to get your content out there quickly and efficiently, on the other hand, if you have created a bulk batch of pins then you are probably better off using the scheduler.

There are a few good reasons why you should use the scheduler for bulk pin strategies.

Save Time: It might seem like stating the obvious, but if you have a batch of 50 pins to post then time is of the essence, and Pin Generator can do all the heavy lifting for you, so it just makes sense to use the tool to its best abilities.

Being Consistent With Pinning: Pinterest likes to see you as being a regular contributor to the platform, not just with new fresh pins but also interacting with the Pinterest community by saving and commenting on other people’s pins. So regularly scheduled quality fresh pins all add up to getting you more impressions and pin clicks.

Don’t Get Banned For Spamming!: Pinterest has evolved in many ways over the last few years and changed a number of its policies with things like outbound links and how they are used. The one consistent policy though is around the idea of spamming the platform. By scheduling your pins and being sensible about the quantity of pins per day that you post you will avoid the possibility of having your account either being suspended or banned.

Using The Scheduler

All that said, let’s take a look at how to use the built-in scheduler.

Setting up your pinning schedule is a breeze in Pin Generator, and it’s perfect for those of you who want to schedule pins in bulk in a fast and efficient manner.

Using the sliders you can adjust the actual time that your pins will be posted.

There are a number of theories as to what is the best time to pin on Pinterest, remember that the vast majority of users are in the USA, so picking times and days that match your targeted time zones may make a difference to your pin’s performance.

You can experiment with different time zones and actual times for pinning and see which combination gives you the best results, Pinterest analytics can help you figure this out.

When you are happy with your settings click save and you are all set.

Using the Smart Shuffle Button

You will notice on the scheduler page a button that says ‘smart shuffle’.

The purpose of this button is to shuffle all the pins in your schedule in a way that they are ordered to avoid posting pins to the same destination URL consecutively.

Pinterest can take a dim view of the same URL link being used over and over again in subsequent pins.

So, if you can make the URL link to different pages on your blog or website then all well and good.

Using the smart shuffle Pin Generator looks at the URL link of each pin and tries to spread them evenly amongst the scheduled pins.

Having said that if each pin has a different image and title then you should be okay, but a way of making sure is to create pins for a couple of different destinations at once and then hit the smart shuffle button to mix them up.

I try to have at least two different URL links on the go at all times and this is enough to make sure Pinterest doesn’t think I am spamming.
